Empowering Young People Through Art

Youth Education

Creative Alliance | Youth education

Creative Alliance provides arts education for thousands of youth annually through after-school, enrichment, and summer programs. Professional teaching artists help children and youth build their artistic voices and shape their intellects. With a rising demand for Creative Alliance’s innovative arts education programs, our offerings have expanded to year-round visual and performing arts workshops and classes in schools, libraries, community centers, and at festivals.

Creative Alliance’s Youth Education Programs empower young people to engage fearlessly and immerse themselves in the creative and artistic process. We present culturally rich programs that teach youth and teens to solve problems, think critically, and to imagine solutions that create positive change in their lives and communities.

Supporting Southeast Baltimore Teens

Teen Council

Creative Alliance’s Teen Council premiered in 2017! YouthWorks and the Southeast Youth Collaborative provide job training to Baltimore City youth. Nine organizations in Southeast Baltimore are part of the Collaborative, including the Southeast Community Development Corporation (SCDC), Banner Neighborhoods, Friends of Patterson Park, Living Classrooms Foundation, Patterson Park Audubon Center, Breath of God Church, Patterson Park Public Charter School, The Intersection, and Creative Alliance.

Teen Council makes programmatic suggestions that better serve teens at Creative Alliance through collaborative exhibitions, performances, festivals, and more!

Open Minds

Located at Creative Alliance and partner schools and libraries, Open Minds Art Club is our after-school, reading-based art program for local youth to create awe-inspiring artwork. Projects are based on or inspired by literature. We teach students creative problem-solving techniques and use the arts to develop their critical thinking skills. Teaching includes hands-on art projects and tours of the Creative Alliance galleries.
