Kim and Sommer Walker

Sidewalk Serenades | Close (But Not too Close) Personal Concerts

SUN MAR 21 | 1PM | 3PM | 5PM
$125 (+$5 Service Fee)

Two well rounded sisters bring movement on the ground and in the air to welcome the warm rays of the Spring sun.

Kim is a traveling nurse, children’s book author, and aerialist originally from Orlando, FL. Currently in Baltimore for a nursing assignment at John’s Hopkins Hospital, this is a rare opportunity to see her perform! She has a background in Lyra and aerial sling and will be coming to you with a portable Lyra for this performance. She got into aerial arts when her climbing gym in Florida closed and she needed another hobby to help her cope with OCD and anxiety disorders. When she's not up in the air, Kim just wants to meet everyone’s dog.

After spending many summers at dance intensives in NYC, Sommer left Miami, FL to start her dance career. She finished high school as a dancer at Nutmeg Conservatory in Connecticut. After that, she went to North Carolina to dance in Charlotte Ballet for a couple of years before making her way to Maryland to dance in Ballet Theatre of Maryland. She has been in Maryland for six years, recently retiring from dance last year during the midst of COVID. If you ask her who she loves the most, hands down she will answer her cat Luna....shhhhh...don’t tell her fiancé!

Sidewalk Serenades:

Close (But Not Too Close) Personal Concerts ushers Spring into Baltimore with short (20-30 min) performances that come directly to you.
Performers will come to the confirmed address, text the resident upon arrival and, like a burst of sunlight through these gray skies, share their talents from the sidewalk. The fee for each performance will be shared between the artist and Creative Alliance to help keep the arts thriving in Baltimore!
Voted 'Best Concert Series' by Baltimore Magazine 2020
"The concerts are a way to keep the arts alive and artists employed in these uncertain times with a bootstraps approach that’s truly Baltimore."

The Basics:
• Performers come to the front of your (or loved one's) home and perform for 20-30 minutes.
• Ticket sales end when all slots are booked OR at 8am day of the concerts.
• If there is poor weather, concerts will be rescheduled to the next nice day, if possible.

What if I want to purchase a concert for someone else???
• Just leave the name, address, and cell number of the person the concert is for in the COMMENTS section when you check out online.

What if I live in an apartment?
• Performers will not enter an apartment or shared home but can perform in front of the complex or on the side of a building. This works the best with musicians that project well (horns, trios, etc).
