Made up of an all-star cast of some of Baltimore’s strongest Americana musicians, Rusty Sal is a sure-fire good time for lovers of classic country. Get some Rusty Sal six feet from your doorstep! Only 6 spots!
About Rusty Sal
Rusty Sal aims to bring a new generation of fans to the songwriting of Hank Williams, Buck Owens, Loretta Lynn, George Jones, and other old favorites. The groove is provided by acclaimed upright bassist Alex Lacquement (Bumper Jacksons, Charm City Junction), the twang comes from the impressive lead guitar work of Lucas Chohany, and the sky high Dolly Parton-esque harmonies from singer-songwriter Letitia VanSant to it all off. Get out on your porch dance floor and join Rusty Sal in the renaissance of classic country in the mid-Atlantic!
About Sidewalk Serenades:
Creative Alliance believes that a Baltimore without live performances is a Baltimore without joy – and we won’t stand for that!
As you likely know, working musicians, dancers, magicians, burlesque performers, aerialists, and other performance-based artists have had their gigs and their livelihoods cancelled for the foreseeable future. Join Creative Alliance in creating performance opportunities for these artists throughout Baltimore while simultaneously respecting the need for everyone to keep a safe distance.
Beginning this week Creative Alliance will offer you the opportunity to have a short performance with two to three songs delivered to the front of your home (or a friend/loved one’s home) for a small fee.
Performers will come to the confirmed address, text the residence upon arrival and, like a burst of sunlight through these gray skies, share their talents from the sidewalk. The donations from each of these performance events will be shared between the artist and Creative Alliance to help keep the arts alive and thriving in Baltimore!
What if I want to purchase a concert for someone else???
What if I live in an apartment?
What if I would like a performance but just can't afford it at this time?
While there is a fee per concert, there are opportunities for those without the means to still have some music in their lives. Musicians have been asking to do additional performance gratis in such a case for the community. If you are in need or work at an organization where you still need to congregate (a hospital, perhaps) and have a safe space for a performance to occur, reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org to coordinate.
