This hands-on workshop will equip artists of any genre with the tools to create a professional artist statement, resume, and biography; crucial documents required of artists to participate in art exhibitions, festivals, concerts; and other art related events.
Artists will learn the significance of these documents for their success, what information to include, what to exclude, and how to tailor each document for specific situations. During this workshop, you will prepare, write, edit, and collaborate with other artists in the creation of these marketing must-haves.
Documents that participants will go over:
1. Artist Statement - a general introduction to artist’s work, a body of work, or a specific project.
2. Resume - focuses on education, exhibitions, recognition, collections and publications highlighting both her academic and her hands-on projects.
3. Biography – an editorial style story about the artist and about their career credentials
Artists are encouraged to bring a laptop or other electronic writing equipment, pen & paper and documents they already have written.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Ania Milo has a Master’s Degree in Art Leadership in Teaching from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, Baltimore and is a Doctoral Candidate of Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. She has been teaching art class for over 6 years, and she is the Chair and Founder of the Canton Community Association Arts Committee, Founder of Ania Milo Fine Art/Pure Emotion Art Studio, and the Founder of the painting events company: Date With Paint. She has participated in over 20 solo and/or group exhibitions over the last 10 years.
