Take a journey from the shores of Africa, the horrors of the transatlantic slave trade in the belly of a ship, transport to antebellum Maryland and end in modern-day Baltimore while learning on the way how everything is interconnected. We must learn from the past to understand the present and make a difference in the future. "Lest we forget".
Talented griots, spoken word and crankie artists will bring the past, present, and future to life on stage. Co-founder of the National Association of the Black Storytellers, Mama Linda Goss, President of the Griots’ Circle of Maryland, Anokwale; Dewmore Baltimore Poet Laureate Deleicea Greene; Crankie Artist Maura Dwyer and Master Drummer, Dr. David Fakunle collaborate to tell stories of Baltimore not readily told.
