Celebrate life and new beginnings with Creative Alliance’s Artesanas Mexicanas! Learn the traditions and art techniques of Día de los Muertos and altar making. Bring a portrait of a loved one to place and honor on any of our community altars. Altars will be honored in a special walking ceremony on November 3 during Día de los Muertos Family Day.

¡Celebre la vida y un nuevo comienzo dirigido por las Artesanas Mexicanas de Creative Alliance! ¡Aprende las tradiciones y técnicas artistas de montar un Altar de Muertos y conozca más sobre la tradición del Día de los Muertos. Traigan retratos de una persona para honrar en cualquier de los altares comunales.

Create beautiful flowers using colorful tissue paper to celebrate the autumn season and adorn your altar.

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS FAMILY DAY W/ ARTESANAS MEXICANAS

SAT, NOV 3, 11AM-3PM 

Honor altars at the Patterson Park Branch or Southeast Anchor Library at 11AM. Face painter available. Dress in costume! Family processions kick off with gigantic Catrina and Catrin puppets at noon, walking towards Creative Alliance, where activities continue with Artesanas Mexicanas and Artesanitos, the children of Artesanas Mexicanas, leading workshops in sugar-skull decorating, papel picado, flower-making as well as traditional foods for sale, folkloric dance, and mariachi performances.
