One of the great American songwriters, John Prine, turns 70 this year. Baltimore's top shelf songwriters and singers will be singing Prine ‘til long after the sun stops shining.  Prine’s work is influenced by his Kentucky homeplace, with influences ranging from country to acoustic folk to rockabilly.  Expect to hear all the greats, as local Americana band, Old Part of Town, anchors a night of Prine music with help from some of the finest voices in the region.

Confirmed artists:

  • Letitia Van Sant
  • Bob Perilla's Big Hillbilly Bluegrass
  • The Old Part of Town
  • Ellen Cherry
  • Mike Barth and Friends
  • Howard Markman and Palookaville
About the artists:
Folkstress Letitia VanSant’s distinctly intimate vocals and poignant songwriting landed her debut album among the top local releases of 2012. Her repertoire has grown into a bold sound charged with the authenticity and sense of purpose we pine for in Americana.
Palookaville It’s a town in your head where even the losers squeeze out a second chance. And it’s a band from where else but Baltimore, MD, playing the best blues rock & roll twang songs a body has a right to hear. Stick around and listen - it only gets better. Palookaville is Howard Markman, Glenn Workman, Chas Marsh, & Jim Hannah
