Charm City Klezmer’s husband and wife team Judith Geller and Michael Raitzyk, and their full band, warmly host this lovely, authentic Creative Alliance tradition of not-so-traditional klezmer music with roots in Jewish Eastern European villages and accents from jazz to James Brown that make for a FAB dance party. Tonight they invite Austin trained, master pedal steel player Susan Alcorn to sit in. Maybe the first pedal steel player in Klezmer history! Charismatic dance leader Avia Moore, comes down from NYC for her Patterson debut. Wear your dancing shoes. We will all be following Avia! This is a true, dance all night event. We expect Judith and Michaels’ daughter Rebekah Rose, age ten, to share some tunes on violin. 8pm. $18, $16 mbrs & stud.

Come out and meet our new crew of 10 fellows, who are serving for 10 months in Baltimore, engaging the Jewish community and young adults to support local organizations working for food justice and education justice. We are committed to working across communities to address local issues through service, study and action. Fellows are living together in an intentional community in Highlandtown. A key of their work is holding deep conversations, asking difficult questions and learning about critical problems in Charm City, while serving as orchard stewards, green space makers, mentors, after school program leaders, and more. Come dance with us, and talk with us about what you are passionate about! We can sign you up on the spot to support community efforts to empower local communities who are working to make positive change.
