We are thrilled to announce our two newest Resident Artists! Hoesy Corona and Melissa Foss join our current residents, MJ Neuberger, Murjoni Merriweather, Lendl Tellington, Charles Mason III, Jason Austin, and Claudia Cappelle. The Creative Alliance Residency Program provides a highly visible, intense, and creative environment for the production of artwork in all media. Attracting artists from around Baltimore and the nation, the program is located at The Patterson, a historic former movie theater converted into a vibrant, community-based art center, with generous workspace, modern facilities, and an atmosphere of ongoing critical feedback.

On Saturday, October 23rd we shook off the pandemic dust and invited families, community members, artists, and shools into the park for the 22nd Great Halloween Lantern Parade! Despite a damp start to the festival, thousands of of costumed participants and watchers joined us in the beautiful Patterson Park for a glowing celebration of Baltimore, it's people, and our many different cultures!

Time to move on…

Seven years ago, almost to the day, I joined the team at Creative Alliance. I credit Creative Alliance for helping me grow as a person and as an arts administrator. I am so proud of so many of our accomplishments - every Crankie Fest, the Sidewalk Serenades program, the Nasty Women Bad Hombres Inauguration Event, The Sacred Music Series at B’nai Israel, Nisaa: Women, the first Kite fest and the list goes on and on and on and on. So many Baltimore artists have enriched my life and the staff here has continually wowed me with their ideas and energy. My time as Performance Director might be the most fun, most joyful employment experience of my life.

Learn about volunteer roles and opportunities and get a bit more insight into Creative Alliance’s Staff and programs. Plus, at the end of the Orientation, we’ll head in to enjoy a live show in our theater!

For over two decades we have gathered to celebrate art, culture, community, and delicious food, with every ticket bought going directly to support our free community arts programs. CALL FOR MARCHING FLOATS AND STAGE SCULPTURE for the 2021 Great Halloween Lantern Parade
Drawing over 12,000 fans, The Great Halloween Lantern Parade has been a beloved Baltimore tradition since 1999. The parade is a community-made, artist commissioned spectacular evening and is always held outdoors in Patterson Park on the last Saturday before Halloween (Oct 23th, rain date Oct 24th). Working with our neighboring schools and community groups, Creative Alliance will produce over 2,000 lanterns that people of all ages will carry in the Parade to create an evening of light-filled wonder.
