Neighborhood & Location
Built in 1918, the Patterson Theater is a landmark building along Eastern Avenue in Highlandtown. The theater is just a few blocks from Patterson Park, an expansive green space at the heart of Southeast Baltimore, a diverse array of historic neighborhoods including Fells Point, Canton, Greektown, and Butchers Hill. Formerly a thriving, blue collar neighborhood of Poles, Germans, and Ukrainians, Highlandtown today is home to immigrant populations from Africa, Latin America and the Balkans. Older residents maintain the neighborhood’s traditions and character, and young artists and homeowners attracted by the inexpensive rents and real estate prices.
