Overview
The 2012 Halloween Lantern Parade & Festival: Phantasmic Creatures of Earthly Delight celebrates imaginary creatures and mythological beasts inspired by our very own Patterson Park. The day kicks off with a Free Festival w/ Manly Deed, hay rides, lantern workshops, costume contest, food trucks & more! Help create the Giant Afterschool Light Bulb, an interactive light sculpture awarded to Creative Alliance by Afterschool Alliance's Lights on Afterschool Program. Parade Director Laure Drogoul coordinates our shimmering spectacle! Dragon lanterns glow on the park's Boat Lake, video projections light up the DiPietro Ice Rink bubble in the park, artist installations & performances throughout the Parade Route. Raya Brass Band, Marching bands, Fluid Movement, Stilters and more keep your feet moving! All are welcome to dress in costume, make lanterns from repurposed plastic bottles, and carry them in the Parade. Or... watch from anywhere along the route! Help us collect water bottles by dropping off your empty ones at the Creative Alliance. Special thanks to Best Battery Company.
