Run of the Mill Theatre & Silent Women w/ Gina Braden
$10, $8 mbrs, stus, snrs.
What are the things we do not talk about? Decoding Silence, a new play by RotM’s Barbara Bryan and Christopher Graybill and directed by Vasanth Santosham, began with interviews from AonP’s Speaking of Silence programs, asking ordinary Baltimoreans to consider silence in all its aspects: cosmic silence, the silence of the streets, of secrets, and peer pressure. Premiering tonight, the results explode in action, images and sounds. Following, AonP Artist-in-Residence Gina Braden performs two classic plays focusing on women. In Strindberg’s The Stronger, two women meet in a cafe on Christmas Eve. One never speaks. Suspicions arise. In the spellbinding Rockabye, Braden portrays Samuel Beckett’s famous woman in a rocking chair communing with the darkness, and the past.
