Painter Edda Jakab, who passed away in 2007, is remembered as a generous soul with a way of capturing the essence of an idea. Jakab’s canvases, assembled by husband George with artists Paul and Carlene Moscatt, evince the same qualities. Her semi-abstract, watery landscapes - which Jakab called “nature’s quiet, soggy spots”—draw equally upon abstract expressionism and Chinese landscape painting, and evoke depths of feeling, mystery, and time.
