Join us for a publication party as Baltimore poet Matt Hohner and friends celebrate the publication of his collection Thresholds and Other Poems (Apprentice House Press). Matt will be reading selections from his new book, along with new work. Books will be on sale, and the author will be signing copies after the reading.
Matt Hohner Bio
Matt Hohner holds an M.F.A. in Writing and Poetics from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. His work has been shortlisted for the Ballymaloe International Poetry Prize, taken both third and first prizes in the Maryland Writers Association Poetry Prize, and won the Oberon Prize for Poetry and the Sport Literate “Anything but Baseball” Poetry Prize. His work has appeared in numerous publications nationally and internationally. Hohner has collaborated with local visual artists for the light ekphrastic, and Dutch musician/composer Brechtje for an original composition using his poem “How to Unpack a Bomb Vest,” performed by the band VONK in The Netherlands in March 2018. Hohner has held a residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, which was made possible by a grant from the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation. Hohner lives in Baltimore, Maryland.
