My Teacher, The Artist is a collaboration between the Exhibition and Education departments of Creative Alliance that showcases the artistic contributions of our teaching artists, through both our on and off-site youth education programming. An update to the popular exhibition Breaking The Mold in 2016, which also featured educators from Creative Alliance’s past.

My Teacher, The Artist celebrates the history of talented teachers who have helped to shape the lives of so many in our community, and who have been instrumental in the artistic development of thousands of youth since the inception of Creative Alliance’s Education program in 1998.

Creative Alliance after-school, art enrichment, and summer programs give youth creative experiences that help shape their intellect. With rising demand for Creative Alliance’s innovative arts education programs, our offerings have expanded to year-round visual and performing art opportunities in schools, library branches, and community centers. We reach over 3,300 youth per year through our education programs in Baltimore City and beyond.

Featuring: Maria Aldana, Alexandra Gonzalez, Nia Hampton, Bronwyn Haymes, Naomi Hanna, Jessica Lopez, Yolanda Martinez, Herbert Massie, Hawa Maya, Jamal Moore
