Art To Dine For - From Holy Land to Graceland
Follow the mournful pilgrimage made by Elvis’ devoted fans during “Death Week,” a yearly tear jerking celebration surrounding the (reputed) death of the king of Rock & Roll on August 16, 1977. Partake of the King’s favorite foods - peanut butter and banana sandwiches with a side of bacon wrapped meatballs prepared by Kim Battista - while scholar and raconteur, Gary Vikan, tells fascinating stories about the ways Elvis fan “worship” parallels medieval deification rituals. This cultural experience takes place at the American Legion General Joseph Haller Post 95.
