Zines for Teens
Absolutely anything about ourselves and the world around us can be expressed through zines or self-published mini-magazines. In this three-session course, we will dive into the history of zines and learn how to design and assemble our very own finished zine. In the first class, we will learn the basics of zine-making and come up with a theme for a compilation issue. The next week, we’ll assemble our writing and art work, and learn all about collaboration and editing to produce our best possible work. In the final class, we will take our edited work to the page, and learn the basics of layout and branding. At the end of this course, students will walk away with a grasp of zine-making fundamentals AND several copies of their very own self-published zines!
All participants will receive 5 free copies of the published Zine. A launch party will be held at Creative Alliance from 5-7pm on April 9. Copies will also be available for purchase at Creative Alliance.
3 Saturdays! | 10-11:30am | $5 per session
