2014 Art Cart Derby will be Sat, Sept 20, 1-6pm--rain or shine!

- Find up to date information on our Facebook page. This year we are also adding a procession of Art Carts before the race, so you can go all out with your team costumes and WOW those judges!

Highlandtown's 2013 annual All Ages Art CartDerby & Art by The Pint is an all ages gravity-powered art cart race and bilingual community arts street festival! Enter your art cart by downloading this Registration Form and email it to maria@creativealliance.org. You can also drop it off at Creative Alliance front desk until Fri, Sep 20 (extended deadline).

What's an art cart? An art cart is a homemade cart powered by gravity (no motors or pedals) and designed as a sculpture. Art carts are made using wood, wheels, wire, papier mache, cardboard and your imagination! Previous art carts include a dinosaur, train garden, marble steps, battleship and rocket ship! See "images" tab for awesome pictures of the festival!

2pm- Derby Line-Up & Swingin' Swamis open!

3pm- Art Carts race w/ youth performers from Kurdistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Guinea! Mexican re-enactment of Carnival of Huejotzingo!

5pm- Awards Ceremony & Frum the Hills!

Organized and planned by an intergenerational team, the Art Cart Derby is created, designed and executed collaboratively by Highlandtown residents, Creative Alliance, Southeast CDC, Loading Dock, The Laughing Pint, Martin Pollock Project, and Banner Neighborhoodss!
