Maggie Gourlay: Entropic Constructions
On view Aug 9-Sep 3
Event Type: exhibitions
Gourlay’s work combines traditional feminine handiwork—crocheted embroidery thread—with traditional handyman materials—latex house paint, electrical tape and drywall tape. Her evocative spheres suggest soap bubbles, which appear to seep into the wall, float into the seams, and under floorboards. Discolored areas form embroidery bubbles which either promise further decay or suggest clustering antibodies with mending properties.
